Drawing for The Rock IslandThe Rock Island is made for the symbol of the new Ecology Park in HjaNz’a island in Okinawa, Japan. Currently, HjaNz’a has a large oil storage station, and huge oil tanks-lined beach is incongruous for the beautiful island. However these oil tanks impair their scenery, the oil storage station needs for keeping their city finance. In response, I attempted to develop an idea of the new Ecology Park that maintains a harmonious balance with HjaNz’a scenery and financial resources. The Ecology Park is new theme park providing learning opportunities both energy and ecology. Guests can get an image of both energy and ecology issue in an enjoyable attractions. All attractions can run by using investigational power-generating like using wind and wave power conversion. Guests also can run small attractions by themselves (pedaling bicycle or making solar battery) The Rock Island is an Symbol of the Ecology Park, and it contains accommodation facilities, restaurants and shopping. The Rock Island is surrounded by artificial giant pool that guests can dive. Inside the pool, diver can discover a whole new world that is a recreation of James Graham Ballard’s “The Drowned World.”
