Drawing for Hôtel de Michelin AIBA had a business request from Michelin company, Japan about 10 years ago.
They requested for planning Michelin Cafe. Unfortunately, his idea did not realize though, he never forget about his idea. Michelin company has a rich story since 1888, and Bibendum, commonly referred to as Michelin Man, is one of the world’s oldest and the most recognized mascots.
Thinking and looking Michelin Man figure, and he had a picture in my mind.
When AIBA was elementary age, he went to Ofuna city in Yokohama, and came flush on a giant Buddha. The Buddha has about 24 m in height and, He had a strange feeling about it.
When people stand in front of a giant statue, they would feel as they are lilliput.
This memory helps his idea of Hôtel de Michelin. Scaling up Michelin Man and using internal spaces as commercial facilities.
Imagine if this giant building builds in the middle of Paris…
Hôtel de Michelin contains shopping, accommodation facilities, theater, restaurants and of course Cafe Michelin too.
